We were thrilled to win the prestigious award for best documentary short for our film, My Century, at the 13th Annual Lady Filmmakers Film Festival in Los Angeles. The festival buzzed with creative energy as filmmakers and audiences celebrated storytelling through film.
Hearing our film's name announced as the winner was a moment of pure elation, reflecting our hard work and dedication. I was overjoyed that Ann's niece was one of the other Lady Filmmakers, it was so nice to meet her and share stories about our beloved Ann.
It was particularly exciting to showcase Ann's film in one of my favorite art house theaters, known for its support of independent cinema. The theater's intimate setting and engaged audience provided the perfect backdrop for our film. Watching the audience react—laughing and reflecting during poignant moments—reinforced the impact of our work and highlighted the power of documentary storytelling. The event was not just a celebration of our film but a tribute to the diverse voices in cinema today.
